Luxury and camping are not two words that normally go together - that is until now! Things have changed, these days you can find a good selection of camping gear that makes roughing it a bit less rough. Luxury camping gear is great for the first time or tentative camper and can make camping as comfortable as spending the night in a hotel. There are even resorts now that cater for the luxury camper. They offer every amenity for a comfortable stay. You will be surprised what is available amenity wise!

Take for example, The Chattanooga River Resort which is a luxury campground that offers bath houses adorned with gorgeous marble and ornate tile, and serves meals like fillet mignon and fresh trout. It's not uncommon for camping resorts like this one to offer wireless Internet services, phone services and unbelievably, cable television. But what if you don't stay at one of these swanky sites? You can bring your own luxury to any camping site. Fashionable, portable camping furniture and feature packed camping stoves are examples of popular new gear available.

However, that's not all. With a gas powered generator, you can have enough electricity for a television, radio and even a laptop computer. Portable, battery powered or electric refrigerators offer more than your old fashioned cooler, while inflatable beds bring the comfort of your bedroom to the middle of the forest. And what about when you have to answer the call of nature? You can do so in privacy with the new shelters that include a toilet, portable shower, window and eight foot walls. Does all this luxury camping gear take away from the authenticity and fun of a camping trip? Some traditionalists would say yes, while other campers would say no.
